It has finally warmed up enough to begin work again. We are in the process of having our pastures, and vegetable garden areas with the final stump clearing and grading done. The next process will be to plow, organically fertilize, plant, and fence. We are having our 1/2 mile driveway re-graded and graveled, and we have just gone to contract with a local contractor to begin restoring our main house. We just picked up our first 100 baby chicks. We have Rhode Island Reds (for your brown eggs)and Bardrocks. I love watching them grow. They are just 4 days old and it will be weeks before we begin to see eggs but I will post it once we have enough range free organic eggs for sale. We will add 100 chicks each month through the fall. We will be having freshly butchered and dressed organically raised chickens as well as smoked chickens later this spring. You may special order yours. The first 4 of our baby goats will arrive in 3 weeks, followed shortly by sheep, baby pigs, turkeys, geese, and ducks. This is a full time and rewarding job. Please check back often to view our list of available produce. I am picking up our baby chicks, baby pigs, and goats this next week. It will still be several weeks until we are ready to open our farm store, but rest assured we are hard at work, and if the weather cooperates we should be ready to go in April. |
